Imprint Lamp
To contribute to the wonderful cultural space Common Imprint who focuses on publications in Asian context, YUUE designed and 3D printed a reading lamp called Imprint Lamp. The form is a fun merge of meaningful elements associated with the space: a book and an Asian archetype. The shade takes inspiration from traditional East Asian rooftops, referencing a familiar cultural form while casting warm light downward. When taking a short reading break, users can casually rest their open book on top of the lamp—just like placing it face-down—then pick it up again and continue reading later.
It was originally created for small-scale, print-and-use production with 3D printing technology. The project opens up a new possibility for us: using design not just for the general public, but for individual needs—personalized, meaningful, and context-driven.
A sharing event was held to reveal this design and promoted exchanges in various topics surrounding design, publication, and the Asian community. Sam Kim, owner of Common Imprint, organized and supported the project with graphic design and photo documenting.
